The NIC platform features a number of modules that support SONET, SDH and OTN functionality.

The core functionality of each protocol is identical across the range, so all modules that support SONET will support the same core SONET functions allowing you to perform end to end tests utilising any mix of these modules.

CSA 4100 100G Test Module

CFP based 40G/100G test module for SONET/SDH, Ethernet and OTN.

The CSA 4100G Module support the full range of multi-lane interfaces from 40G to 112G.

40/43G Test Module

SONET/SDH testing at 40Gb/s, OTN testing at 43Gb/s.

The 40/43G test module supports SONET/SDH and OTN interfaces at 40G/43G.

Additional test options add support for full multiplexing from the 43G interface down to ODU-0 containers with Ethernet payloads.

MSA Series Modules

Testing up to 10G + optional OTN, Ethernet opt./elect., ATM, Fibre Channel, GFP, VCAT, LCAS.

The MSA 2020 and MSA 2030 are available with SONET/SDH testing from 51Mbps up to 155Mbps, 622Mbps, 2.5Gbps or 10Gbps. Ethernet testing options available include 10/100/1000BaseT (dual ports), GigE (dual ports) and 10GigE LAN/WAN interfaces.

Additional license-based Test Options available include OTN testing at 2.6 and 10.7Gbps, Generic Framing Procedure (GFP), 10GigE WAN, 10GigE over OTN and ODU-1 to ODU-2 multiplexing with additional capabilities available soon. Test Options can be added at the time of initial purchase or at a future time with only a license key.

The MSA 2030 also supports Test Options for Virtual Concatenation (VCAT) and Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme (LCAS)

SSA1220 Module

Advanced, cost-effective SONET/SDH testing with optional OTN and ATM

The SSA 1220 is the industry’s most cost effective SONET/SDH testing solution with optional OTN and ATM testing plus drop-insert to PDH/T-Carrier rates.

In the light and compact NIC chassis or battery-powered NIC BP, the SSA 1220 provides a fully featured SONET/SDH/OTN/ATM test solution and with additional module can provide PDH/T-Carrier test with drop/insert capabilities or Optical Spectrum Analyzer (OSA).

In the larger 5-slot NIC Plus or NIC EP chassis, numerous configurations are available to provide the exact test solution needed. For example, a single NIC Plus or NIC EP chassis can be equipped with five SSA 1220 modules for multi-port/simultaneous testing. Other configurations include the 40/43Gbps test module, OSA, High-Density Ethernet or other modules.
