Multi-layer service test

Today's transport networks feature a multitude of layers and mapped protocols. The NIC fully supports multi-layer service testing allowing you to test at OTN or SONET/SDH interfaces with support for GFP/GMP mapping of Ethernet, 10 Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel services and analysis of any intermediate control layers.

The key is in the detail

Your test is only as valuable as the results it produces. The NIC provides in-depth reporting including full error and alarm counts and rate display, graphing capabilities, report generation, and full event logs recording the beginning and end of every single event that is detected, whether it be a single bit error or an hour long loss of frame, not one detail is missed ensuring you can pinpoint the cause of any network issues.

More than just bit error rate testing (BERT)

NGN networks require not only bit error rate testing of a circuit but analysis at each of the layers / protocols supporting the delivered service. Use the NIC to perform service testing including Ethernet stress testing, Fibre Channel throughput, QoS testing, RFC-2544 benchmarking from lower layer protocols and analyze the mapping mechanisms that are being used in the transport of that service.

40Gb/s Test Module

Test 40 Gigabit SONET/SDH and OTN networks using OC-768 / STM-256 and OTU-3 interfaces.

MSA 2020 / 2030

The definition of flexibility the MSA 2020 / 2030 modules support 5 physical protocols on a single module. A single module is all that's needed to test Ethernet, Fibre Channel, SDH, SONET and OTN interfaces up to 10Gb/s rates.

Maximise the usage of the module by testing up to 3 separate interfaces simultaneously, mixing dual 1Gbs/s, 2Gb/s, 4Gb/s, 1000Base-T, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet testing with 10G Ethernet LAN / WAN PHY, 8G, 10G Fibre Channel, SDH and OTN ports.

High Density Ethernet Module

Testing multiple Ethernet ports simultaneously can shorten overall test time, reduce your implementation time and save money. With the High Density Ethernet module for the NIC platform, you can test up to eight electrical ports and four optical ports on a single High Density Ethernet module. Up to four of these modules can be installed in the NIC Plus or NIC EP chassis enabling even higher density. Add 10GigE LAN/WAN testing to fully test Ethernet systems at today’s highest data-rates.

Up to 12 ports supporting 10 / 100 / 1000 Base-T, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel at 1Gb/s and 2 Gb/s.
